Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) - Application Form

for

This fund is designed to provide effective crisis support to those that encounter a financial challenge and help individuals build their long-term financial resilience, reducing their dependence and repeat need for emergency assistance.

Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) is managing a pot of £18,450 as part of the CRF, with community sector organisations able to apply for up to £2,000 in grants to support people in their communities.

Each funded organisation will decide how individuals access this support, depending on their own organisation’s operations, and CWVA will work with you on the reporting requirements for your particular project. This could focus on the number of applications received/people supported, the type of crisis support/items provided, the value of this support, and the type of any resilience support offered.

While the CRF is a new fund, it builds on the work of the Household Support Fund (HSF), with a particular focus on resilience and people becoming less reliant on emergency crisis support. This means that, along with funds to support individuals with their emergency needs, organisations can use the money to deliver support that will help people with their financial resilience.

Any funded organisations will be expected to engage with the Financial Resilience Forum, hosted by CWVA, and take part in Financial First Aid training where relevant. Not only is the Financial Resilience Forum a good opportunity to connect with other organisations working in this area, but you can also shape how the CRF looks in the longer-term.

Please note that this funding is only open to not-for-profit community sector organisations, and it will need to be spent by September 2026. This is short-term funding during the transition from the HSF as longer-term plans are put in place for the CRF.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 24 April.
