Volunteering for Health Liverpool
The Volunteering for Health Liverpool Grants Programme is designed to:
‘Build the capacity of VCFSE organisations to develop, test and/or strengthen volunteering approaches that improve health access, literacy, and hospital pathways for underserved communities in Liverpool.’
The programme is developmental rather than competitive, recognising differing organisational starting points and prioritising learning and collaboration.
Funded activity must clearly align with one or more of the following:
- Health themes: health navigation, health literacy, access to hospital services, hospital discharge/post-discharge support.
- Priority Communities: global majority communities (previously BAME), women, older people, people with mental health needs, people with long-term/chronic illness, residents of underserved or socially deprived areas.
Examples include (but are not limited to):
- developing or piloting new volunteering roles
- improving inclusion, support and/or progression for volunteers
- strengthening partnerships with NHS services
- creating/accessing resources, training or systems to support health volunteering
- testing approaches to engage under-represented communities
