Making Space

Grant pot: £50,000

Grant length: 3-years with a possible 2-year extension

Making Space provides longer term funding for projects and core costs that work to create more inclusivity and spaces for organisations delivering work with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the borough. Organisations delivering services to under 25s are invited to apply. Organisations are invited to apply for a maximum of £20,000 per year and this can be used flexibly for core or project costs.

This grant programme aims to enable more children and young people with special education needs and disabilities to attend and participate in local youth and play services. Applications must demonstrate:

  • How the organisation will deliver more opportunities and activities for children and young people with SEND
  • How the organisation will include more children and young people with SEND
  • How organisations will ensure that their staff are trained to support children and young people with SEND
  • How organisations will work with RBKC’s Short Breaks service and other local providers to support disabled young people and to signpost to each other’s services

Organisations will be able to bid for 3 years, and have a 2 year extension following delivery of good quality services. Grants will commence from 1 April 2025.

Monitoring for this grant will be required every 6 months, with an annual report showcasing how the organisation has reached its outcomes for the year.

You will be asked to upload a completed budget for your service, an EDI form of last years service, risk assessment of your proposed service and training log of your staff and volunteers. The templates to each of those can be found below.
